Editing Dead Load Dialog

Opens when Editing Load is selected in the Dead Load/DC group. To open Dead Load dialog, right click on Dead Load case and select Edit Load.
A description of input follows:
SettingDescription
Load name Enter the name of the load case. If the load was system generated it can be changed by the user. This name will be used in all subsequent display and reporting activities.
Member Groups Select the desired member group
Members Lists the available members in the member group. The active member is highlighted. Subsequent Adds and deletes will be for the highlighted member.
Add Press to add another load to the current member
Delete Press to delete the currently highlighted load
Copy to From the drop down list of members, select which one to copy the current member load definition to.
Grid Items:

Gir This is the girder or member number for the load
Load Type Load types are:
  • Trapezoidal
  • Point
  • Moment
Reference Type Reference types are:
  • Support - the load location is referenced to a support
  • Group - the load is referenced to the member group
  • Continuous
Reference Num If the Reference Type is support, a list of support numbers appears
Dist unit Options are:
  • Ft - all location information is in feet
  • Rel - the location is entered as a percentage of the length of the member.
Val 1
  • If the load type is trapezoidal, this is the begin load in k/ft
  • If the load type is point, this is the value load value in kips
  • If the load type is moment, this is the load value in k-ft
Loc-1
  • If the load type is trapezoidal, this is the begin load in k/ft
  • If the load type is point, this is the value load value in kips
  • If the load type id moment, this is the load value in k-ft
Val-2
  • If the load type is trapezoidal, this is the end load in k/ft
  • If the load type is point, this is the value load value in kips
  • If the load type is moment, this is the load value in k-ft
Loc-2
  • If the load type is trapezoidal, this is the end load in k/ft
  • If the load type is point, this is the value load value in kips
  • If the load type is moment, this is the load value in k-ft
Description This is an optional user description of the load
OK Press OK to save the dead load definition and exit the dialog.
Cancel Press Cancel to exit the dialog without saving the data.
